In his service application counsel for the respondent requested leave to proceed in writing. [2] In a letter dated October 8, 2003, the Attorney General of Canada asked this Court to file with the office of the Registry of the Federal Court in Montréal the application for service, the judgment and the reasons, the affidavit of Simon-Nicolas Crépin, the bill of costs and the supporting documentation for purposes of service on the applicant, as the latter had no known address, in accordance with subsection 140(3) of the Federal Court Rules. [3] In view of the foregoing, I am prepared to proceed with assessment of the respondent's bill of costs. Except for item 26, the fees are awarded as requested.
