Mr Torrie was survived by his wife, and by Thomas Jameson Torrie, the only child of the marriage, and also by his two natural children, Anne and Peter Torrie, but Peter Torrie afterwards died in minority, and unmarried. Anne Torrie attained majority, and married John Munsie. She was survived by her husband and their son, Patrick Torrie Munsie.
In these circumstances the trustees brought a multiplepoinding, in which the share of the residue of Patrick Torrie's estate, provided to his natural son Peter Torrie, was claimed, first , by Thomas Jameson Torrie, Patrick's legitimate son; secondly , by the husband and child of Anne Torrie; and, lastly , by the Crown.
