Request removal of a case
If you appear in a case record on getcaselaw.com and would like it removed — for example because your conviction was quashed on appeal, you have statutory anonymity as a victim or witness, the conviction is spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, or for other privacy reasons — use the form below.
We acknowledge requests within 24 hours and respond substantively within 30 days, as required by Article 12(3) UK GDPR. In practice most requests are actioned within 48 hours.
- The URL of the case page on getcaselaw.com (most helpful) or the case name and citation
- Your name and email address
- Your relationship to the case
- The reason for the request
- Brief supporting evidence (e.g. "the conviction was quashed on appeal — see [2024] EWCA Crim 999"). If you have a court order or solicitor letter, you can email it as a PDF to [email protected] quoting the reference number you receive after submitting this form.
Minimum 20 characters. The more specific you are, the faster we can verify and action your request.
We will only use the information you provide to process this request and (where required) to keep an audit record of our compliance.
Data source. Case records on Caselaw are sourced verbatim from public judgments published by The National Archives under the UK Government's Open Government Licence v3.0.
