After the conviction was quashed, the Crown carried out further work on the video. Before the retrial at Bristol Crown Court, the Crown served additional expert evidence on the defence relating to identification. The defence sought their own expert evidence, but this only confirmed the opinion of the Crown expert. On 5 March 2001, Mr Quiddington entered a Guilty Plea.
