            The appellant is a national of Iran. He claims to have left Iran in March 2018. He arrived in the UK on 29 April 2019 and claimed asylum on 20 May 2019. His claim was refused by the respondent on 1 March 2022. The respondent accepts the appellant is a national of Iran and that he is of Kurdish ethnicity. However the respondent rejected the core of the appellant's claim and having also considered the appellant's claim regarding his sur place activities in the UK, concluded the appellant will not be at risk upon return to Iran.
            The appellant's appeal against that decision was dismissed by First-tier Tribunal Judge Cohen for reasons set out in a decision dated 14 March 2023.
