For the Respondent: Ms E Doerr of Counsel, instructed by David Benson Solicitors
The Secretary of State for the Home Department appeals against a decision of First-tier Tribunal Judge Cameron promulgated on 4 May 2022 allowing Mr Mustapha Njie's appeal against a deportation decision dated 23 March 2021.
In particular the Secretary of State challenges the key finding of the First-tier Tribunal to the effect that it had not been shown that the Appellant " represents a genuine, present and sufficiently serious threat affecting one of the fundamental interests of society " (Decision and Reasons, paragraph 63).
Although before us the Secretary of State is the appellant and Mr Njie is the respondent, for the sake of consistency with the proceedings before the First-tier Tribunal we shall hereafter refer to the Secretary of State as the Respondent and Mr Njie as the Appellant.
The Appellant is a citizen of Gambia born on 28 February 1997.
