I. ALLEGED VIOLATION OF ARTICLE 5 OF THE CONVENTION
A. Article 5 § 3 of the Convention
“Everyone arrested or detained in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 1 (c) of this Article shall be ... entitled to trial within a reasonable time or to release pending trial. Release may be conditioned by guarantees to appear for trial.”
B. Article 5 § 5 of the Convention
“Everyone who has been the victim of arrest or detention in contravention of the provisions of this Article shall have an enforceable right to compensation.”
II. ALLEGED VIOLATION OF ARTICLE 6 § 1 OF THE CONVENTION
“In the determination of ... any criminal charge against him everyone is entitled to a ... hearing within a reasonable time by a ... tribunal...”

FOR THESE REASONS, THE COURT UNANIMOUSLY
2. Holds that there have been violations of Article 5 §§ 3 and 5 and Article 6 § 1 of the Convention;
(a) that the respondent State is to pay the applicant, within three months, EUR 11,900 (eleven thousand nine hundred euros), plus any tax that may be chargeable, in respect of non-pecuniary damage, to be converted into Turkish liras at the rate applicable at the date of settlement;
(b) that from the expiry of the above-mentioned three months until settlement simple interest shall be payable on the above amount at a rate equal to the marginal lending rate of the European Central Bank during the default period plus three percentage points;
