King's College London Law (LLB) β Course Guide
6 min read
The Kingβs College London (KCL) LLB is a three-year qualifying law degree based in the heart of legal London. It satisfies the academic stage for the SQE and the Bar, and combines doctrinal grounding with the option to specialise heavily in the final year.
Core modules.Expect the standard foundations of legal knowledge: contract, tort, criminal law, public law, land law, equity & trusts, and EU/retained law, plus a legal skills and method strand. These foundation subjects carry most of the exam weight across the degree.
Assessment. Modules are assessed through a mix of unseen exams and coursework, with problem questions and essays the dominant formats. Examiners reward a clean IRAC structure and accurate citation; vague, rule-only answers underperform.
How to revise efficiently. Drill the must-know authorities with flashcards, use structured case briefs to learn ratios fast, and practise under time with past papers and model answers. Our first-class technique guide covers the rest.
