Attorney General v Guardian Newspapers (No 2) (Spycatcher)

The Attorney General sought to prevent publication of 'Spycatcher', memoirs of former MI5 officer Peter Wright, on grounds of breach of confidence. The House of Lords held that once information had entered the public domain through overseas publication, there was no further basis for restraining publication in England, as the confidentiality had been destroyed.
